Anyone have any tips for dealing with receeding hair at the temples? Is a wig the only option? Is there anything that actually works to get hair to grow normal again? If i were to start hrt would that have any impact? This hairline is the thing that's really bothering me right now...
Do you have high blood pressure? Try cutting out salt and sugar from your diet and reducing stress. Rogaine, the hair loss treatment, was originally meant for HBP, but had the side effect of hair regrowth.
I do actually... damn. Stupid genetics. Horray, more dietary restrictions.
Finasteride and dutasteride are prescribed to non-trans guys for male-pattern baldness. Yeah, they can be included as part of HRT too, but it's just a testosterone blocker, not actually hormones. You could try that.
I can confirm this.
I started losing hair at the temples and hairline at a relatively young age due to male-pattern baldness. Globally, hair was also thinning rapidly due to poor nutrition.
I started to take finasteride and spironolactone 8 months ago and I've noticed some nice changes so far. The texture of my hair has definitely altered to a satisfactory level, it hasn't returned to its thickness before hair fall but I'm quite happy with the progress so far.
Maintaining a good haircare regimen will -without a doubt- improve the health of your hair and scalp. Use a good shampoo and conditioner suited for your hair type (do some research on what works best for you) and moisturise your scalp on a weekly basis. Good luck :)
HRT stops male pattern baldness.
But it does not restart already lost hair.
