I'm not in a relationship per se, but I'm cuddle buddies with a trans person ^^
I call her by her preferred pronoun, because that's what she wants and I respect her decision.
Thanks for starting the thread, this is always helpful.
We can't say why you're getting the wrong pronouns... you'll be the only one to figure that out. But pronouns and gender are built into the language and culture very deeply and sometimes it takes a lot of effort to "control" them.
I s'pose some questions for you that might help are "Do you see your SO as only of the wrong gender?" or how about, "Do you have a problem dating someone of the right gender?"
(Again, I don't know the answer to your question, just digging up a couple of things to start thinking on...)
