Hi y'all. 16yo trans here - finally plucked up the courage to tell my mum and a few friends, currently seeing a psych, want to get on mones. Terrified about telling my dad and eventually letting other parts of my family know. Pretty sad right now, have to wait 18 weeks while my psych finds out 'what can be done' when I have stated several times that I would like hormone treatment. Is there anything I can do to either speed up the process or make progress? I'm 5'9", 60kg, average guy face, moderate muscle on back arms and thighs.

Try not to rush sweety youve gotta just keep hope on this your 16 just make it known that this is what you really want, id suggest a dramatic wardrobe change though for school go with pants girls pants but pants for now

It turns out that I have to wait until I am 18 before I can be given hormone treatment and private gender identity clinics and endocrinologists do not take children (under 18) therefore I have decided to 'self medicate' but will only start once I have some form of medical checkup with my GP (blood tests etc). I understand this is generally frowned upon because of the health implications it can have however I am going to start out on low 25mg doses of spironolactone that I may alter depending on how my body reacts to it. I will also take 2mg tabs of estrofem along side the anti-androgen. I hope you can understand my reasoning behind my decisions. I will take every bit of medical advice from my doctor that is issued based on my blood samples.
It also must be noted that I am approaching 17 and wish very much to be in a position to go full time by the time I leave college and head forward to university hence why I am so urgent to start HRT now.
